Lambros runs through Vietnam in memory of their grandmother
The brothers' beach-to-rice-paddy ultra is drawing renewed attention a month after publication, with a family tribute at its heart.
Why this story? The video is running at 20,787 views a day, 7.7 times its usual pace (2,691).
50km Vietnam Ultra Marathon🇻🇳
Their grandmother never got to visit Vietnam before she died from cancer. The brothers behind Lambros made their journey through the country a run dedicated to her, carrying her memory through heat, mountain steps and rice-paddy paths.
Posted in September, "50km Vietnam Ultra Marathon🇻🇳" has picked up roughly 21,000 views in a day, nearly eight times its usual daily pace. It is an outdoor endurance trip rather than the treadmill challenges featured in their more recent uploads.
The day begins with instant noodles and electrolytes in a hotel room, followed by a beachfront warm-up. Before long, the route takes them through a narrow cave and up steep steps. "It is so hot in Vietnam, I can barely breathe," one brother says early in the run.
Photos of their grandmother interrupt the distance updates, bringing the purpose of the trip back into view. In the description, the brothers explain that she died before she could make the journey herself. Viewers are responding with memories of grandparents they have lost and thanks for visiting Vietnam.
There are ordinary stops amid the effort: bánh mì, avocado smoothies and a roadside encounter with a water buffalo. By the closing stretch, the brothers are wearing conical hats as they follow paths between rice paddies and return toward the coast. A palm tree on the beach serves as their finish marker, where they stop and embrace.
