Shef_Phoenix's ginger beer meets the living-room carpet

An accidental bulk ginger order becomes the busiest new upload alongside two potato-themed releases.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

The ginger incidentThe ginger incident

A kilogram of ginger is a lot to order by accident. Shef_Phoenix turns the surplus into homemade ginger beer, then discovers just how much of his living room the drink can reach.

"The ginger incident" starts by previewing the bottle eruption, so the mess is never exactly a secret. He makes a ginger bug starter, prepares a sweetened ginger base with lemon, and bottles the mixture. Opening the fermented plastic bottle sends liquid across the table and carpet. The tasting goes better than the cleanup prospects: he calls the drink delicious, almost worth having it all over the floor.

Viewers have made the conspicuous foreshadowing the running joke, with one neatly renaming it fizzyshadowing. Others swap memories of their own overpressurized ginger beer experiments. At roughly 1.7 million views, the Short has the largest audience of his three uploads this week.

Potatoes supply the other two dishes: "Nostalgia potatoes but bougie" and "Michelin Mash 2 Ways." The latter is the newest arrival and currently the channel's fastest-moving upload, while the ginger incident continues drawing more daily views than the earlier potato outing.

Across the channel, the week brought about 31 million views and another 10,000 subscribers. Daily viewing is currently below his usual level, though that weekly total is the largest among the nearby food channels here. Rainbow Plant Life and Mini Cakes are seeing livelier-than-usual daily viewing, too. For Shef_Phoenix, the immediate follow-up to a carpet-soaking fermentation experiment is back on more familiar ground: mash, two ways.
