You Are Deleting Apps WRONG Do This Instead
Trevor Nace starts with the part of an app cleanup that is easy to overlook: the documents sitting in Files after an icon has disappeared. His tutorial, "You Are Deleting Apps WRONG Do This Instead", has drawn nearly 50,000 views in sixteen hours, already far beyond his usual first-day audience.
The walkthrough begins in Files, under On My iPhone, where Nace demonstrates removing app folders and documents. He then moves through deleting the app itself and switching off its backup data in iCloud. The distinction matters to his explanation: space on the phone and space in a cloud backup are separate places to check.
Not everyone in the comments thinks the cloud step needs doing manually. One viewer argues that a later automatic backup handles it; another wants something different altogether, a way to remove the App Store's cloud-shaped redownload marker. That question goes beyond the storage cleanup Nace demonstrates.
For anyone who wants space back without fully parting with an app, his final section offers Offload App in iPhone Storage. Nace explains that it removes the app while retaining login details and associated information for a reinstall. After a title about deleting things, the tutorial ends with an option for keeping something.

What I'd also like is to delete any trace on the App Store that I downloaded that app. For example, if I remove TikTok and its associated data, the App Store will still show that "little cloud" to redownload it.
