Sister Says Friend Killed Her Brother To Impress A Girlfriend

Standing near the spot where her younger brother died, a sister describes facing life without him after already losing their mother. "And now I got to start a new chapter of my life without my little brother," she says in WSB-TV's report.

The teenager was fatally shot while spending time with friends in Clayton County, Georgia. His sister says a friend told her the shooting happened during a play fight, when another friend tried to impress a girlfriend. That account of the circumstances comes from the family, not a police finding announced in the report.

The Short drew about 26,000 views within ten hours, an unusually fast start for WSB-TV's short-form reporting.

Reporter Tom Jones also draws an important distinction about the investigation: the sister says police told the family an arrest warrant had been issued. Clayton County police confirmed that the investigation remained active but did not confirm the warrant.
