Donnie Wahlberg returns to hometown to film new season of "Boston Blue"

A hometown television shoot offers a lighter turn in CBS Boston's busy news week. “Donnie Wahlberg returns to hometown to film new season of "Boston Blue"” is the most watched of its new uploads, with Wahlberg back in the city to film the show's second season. For viewers who know him as Danny Reagan from Blue Bloods, the Boston setting adds another connection: this is his hometown, too.

The comments take that local connection personally. One viewer emphasizes Wahlberg's city roots, while another recalls a mother growing up on Hanover Street in the North End. The report also has the strongest current viewing momentum among the channel's highlighted videos, alongside its Reading case update and Gulf Coast hurricane coverage.

CBS Boston posted 15 videos and gained roughly two million views over the week, a similar weekly turnout to WSB-TV. NBCLA had a much larger viewing week. Boston's subscriber audience grew modestly, although its current daily views are below their usual pace. Among coverage of court proceedings, severe weather and municipal policy, Wahlberg's return gives the week a distinctly Boston entertainment story.
