A hundred years of Pooh brings Disney back to the honey pot

An anniversary compilation and Emme Zhou's clay creation join a week spanning Banana Ball, Frozen and costume design.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Pooh has two birthday tributes. Disney marked his centennial with "100 Years of Winnie the Pooh: Our Favorite Moments with Pooh and Friends" and a clay recreation of his familiar honey pot by artist Emme Zhou. Both are among the channel's busiest uploads by daily views, giving the anniversary a place beyond the new-release shelf.

They arrived in a week of 13 uploads whose biggest new draw was something rather less sleepy than the Hundred Acre Wood. "Banana Bowl: Presented Ad-Free by Liberty Mutual Insurance" reached roughly 291,000 views. The sponsored championship broadcast brought the Texas Tailgaters and Savannah Bananas to Nationals Park, with a skydiving mascot and an on-field Beauty and the Beast performance. Viewers are discussing the original music, memories of attending and whether future Banana Bowls should get Roman numerals.

Elsewhere, Salvador Pérez Jr. explained his Sanderson Sisters dresses and capes in "Hocus Pocus 2: Costume Commentary | Notes on a Seam," while "Frozen II Side by Side | Elsa & Bruni | Storyboard vs Film" paired a fiery encounter with its drawn beginnings.

Disney added subscribers over the week, although today's viewing is well below its usual daily level. Its weekly views sit close to those of Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios; DC and Paramount had substantially larger viewing weeks.

The channel's strongest daily momentum belongs to "Conceal Don't Feel | A Frozen Twisted Tales Animation." Its premise keeps the family reunion out of reach: Elsa doesn't know she has a sister, and Anna is hidden from the world.

  • The new anthem "look what we made" gave me chills. Must be so surreal for Jesse and Emily to look out from the mound at how far they've come. All that hard work. And it's fitting that all the players were involved. What a great moment
