Fjord opens in theaters as NEON checks in at Artificial's premiere
Two new uploads connect Cristian Mungiu's coastal-town drama with Luca Guadagnino's New York Film Festival outing.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Fjord - First Look Featurette - In Select Theaters Friday
The trailers did the work. NEON posted two new videos, but its older Artificial teaser supplied most of the channel's daily viewing, taking its total beyond seven million views.
The week's most-watched new upload, “Fjord - First Look Featurette - In Select Theaters Friday,” introduces Cristian Mungiu's drama about a Norwegian woman and her Romanian husband relocating with their children to a close-knit coastal town. Friendships develop between neighboring families, while unease grows around the parents' rigid beliefs. The description sets up allegations of abuse and questions about where concern ends and prejudice begins. The featurette drew roughly 5,600 views around the film's October 9 theatrical opening.
“Artificial World Premiere Recap #artificial #film” offered a shorter check-in from the New York Film Festival. Guadagnino's film has an ensemble including Andrew Garfield, Yura Borisov, Monica Barbaro and Mark Rylance, with a Christmas Day release advertised in its teaser.
NEON's subscriber count was unchanged across the week, and daily viewing is running at less than half its usual pace. Madman Films had a similar weekly views gain. Within NEON's own catalog, Fjord's trailer remains active alongside James Gray's Paper Tiger, extending the week from a theatrical opening to November's release slate.
